Open File shell For TC is a utility for Total Commander that opens specific executable for each file extension when pressing F4 to edit selected file. E.g. pressing F4 on text files will launch selected text editor, on graphic files - graphic editor, on office documents - word proccessor, etc.

Version 1.8c (September 04, 2008) (unobtrusive raising OpenFileTC's capabilities)
  Added. You now able to disable automatic highlighting items under mouse.
  Added. Now you can send to editor a text file with list of selected in TC files. Command line syntax you can read from the .\Texts_EN\SupportedTags.txt file.
  Added. Now you can tune items via keyboard+mouse and keyboard using the follow 
         combinations (LMB = Left mouse button):
                 Ctrl+LMB - open properties of selected editor
                 Shift+LMB - edit extensions of selected editor
                 Alt+LMB - edit selected editor
                 F2 - rename selected editor
                 Shift+F2 - edit extensions for selected editor
                 Ctrl+F2 - open properties of selected editor
		 Spacebar - toggle "Always use" check box
  Added. "Show / Hide tool bar" item is added to the popup menu
  Added. Now you can set transparency for the main window and all other windows.
  Added. Now you can disable bacground for the main window (make background fully transparent)
  Added. If you add manually "UseInactivePanel=1" parameter for some editor, then this editor will get its files list to edit from both panels - active and not active.
  Added. If you add manually "SendOnlyThisFilesCount=N" parameter for some editor (N is a number more than zero), then this editor will edit files with supported extensions only if you select N files in Total Commander.
  Added. An hidden option CheckActivePanelBeforeAddInactiveFiles was added to OpenFileTC. This option wotks in combination with UseInactivePanel option. Working: if SendOnlyThisFilesCount option is set for editor, but needed count of files is already selected in active panel, then OpenFileTC ignore inactive panel. But if CheckActivePanelBeforeAddInactiveFiles=0 (default) and UseInactivePanel=1, then OpenFileTC adds selected files from inactive panel too.
  Fixed. Now background color of "Always use..." checkbox is colored to the same color as the main window's background color 
  Fixed. There are pictures on buttons to close and open tool bar.
  Fixed. There was a trouble with modal view of editor's preferences window - it can hide behind the main window.
  Fixed. Application works badly if if starts not under Total Commander: it usually opens in Setup mode instead of editing selected file.
  Fixed. If OpenFileTC spy for files in inactive panel, then files will be sent in order of panels: first files are from LEFT panel, second  - from RIGHT panel.
  Fixed. Sometimes editor's order can be broken in the preferred section - "Another application..." option can be arisen in the middle of the list.
  Fixed. A lot of small mistakes were found and fixed.

Version 1.8b (March 11, 2008) (fixing old troubles)
  Added. New param "/force" was added to OFTC command line - force start OFTC
  Added. A check box "Show tool bar" is added to the OFTC setup window
  Added. A new item in the popup menu - Recognize type as supported / Remove type from supported
  Added. If you add manually "OpenAtOnceForAnyExt=1" parameter to OpenFileTC.ini for some editor, then strings "ext_OpenAtOnce=1" can be erased: in this case, all extensions will be opened directly in this editor
  Fixed. A lot of changes in the procedures of loading editors and saving editors: read-write operations count is now twice less than it was before.
  Fixed. Common command line for all editor's extensions is now works correctly
  Fixed. There was an error while opening files with Unicode symbols in its names (like Japanese or Chinese symbols) - OFTC doesn't opens them, but starts in Setup mode (problem is solved partially - there is all OK for single file)
  Fixed. Trouble with F4 on exe-files: if user press F4 twice on the same EXE, then OFTC always asks to add this EXE to the editors list. Now OFTC don't ask if this editor is already in the list.
  Fixed. Trouble with Edit Extensions window resizing is removed
  Fixed. Trouble with TC Plugin Manager: OpenFileTC doesn't opens wincmd.ini if its path contains blanks (because this file was passed without quotes)
  Fixed. Select language window was changed a little
  Fixed. OFTC works wery bad with its command line - it was impossible to start OFTC on another ini-file. "/I=" parameter doesn't works correctly.
  Fixed. Trouble with FTPDrive application is solved. If user wanted to edit file on the virtual drive of FTPDrive, then file size is shown as zero (becomes zero), and editors couldn't find this file to edit. Notice: file size don't changed physically - it was only shown as this file has only zero bytes.
  Fixed. If OFTC was opened with force call on extension, which this editor must opens immediately, then "Always use..." checkbox becomes switched off
  Fixed. Some other changes in the popup menu
  Fixed. Sometimes, OFTC may raise Runtime error after user selects editor
  Fixed. Small changes and fixed for the OFTC first start (new user)

Version 1.8a  (November 1, 2007) (raising speed of application)
  Add.   Now application supports %U3_APP_DATA_PATH%, %U3_DEVICE_EXEC_PATH%, %U3_HOST_EXEC_PATH% environment variables (these variables are exist in the portable version of Windows)
  Fixed. After restart, all deleted editors becomes not erased.
  Fixed. DisableCallsCount=1 now works correctly. If user starts editor on extension without OpenFileTC window, then OpenFileTC calculate calls count of this editor without making attention to the DisableCallsCount option.
  Add.   Toolbar with buttons was added
  Add.   Now OpenFileTC can edit files from searching result, and also you can edit files in the "Ctrl+B" files display mode
  Fixed. When you change name of editor, its name doesn't changed in the main window 
  Fixed. If you have assigned some editor for current extension, and this editor must be opened directly - without OpenFileTC window, and if you have made a force call of OpenFileTC, then this option becomes disabled for this extension
  Add.   Now you can force open OpenFileTC window using the Escape key
  Add.   If you have a default editor, and it is the preferred editor, then it will be selected if OpenFileTC's window opens
  Fixed. When you opens file directly in needed editor (without OpenFileTC window), then sometimes you may have a critical error
  Add.   Due to the internal code changes, application's work is faster. It's strongly recommended to update OpenFileTC for steady users.
  Fixed. The command /L=%L didn't work
  Add.   Option was added to the .lng-file:

Version 1.7c  (July 15, 2007) (fixing bugs, adding abilities)
  Add. Now you can set some editor as a default editor for each new extension. It is very useful if you works very hard with a lot of text files which have different extensions
  Add. Option to enable / disable adding executables via F4 on them
  Fixed. If application is called using hot key, then extenson haven't added to the list of supported extensions
  Add. Hidden option [Main] DisableCallsCount=1 - disabling the calls counting
  Add. Flags to open editors: maximize / minimize / normal
  Add. F4 on exe-files - asks user to add it to the list of editors
  Add. English now is the embedded language
  Fixed. "Lost applications" - if user set the right way to the lost executable, then application stay at the "Lost applications" section, ant its icon do not changed
  Fixed. Wrong OpenFileTC's action with the "Always use..." check box - application do not always obey for user :)
  Fixed. When user sent to the OpenFileTC a /I= param, then application lost list of selected files
  Add. Now user can set the common command line for each extension of the executable (now this option is not so good, will be fixed lately)
  Add. Application read the environment variable PATH
  Add. Applications Notepad, Wordpad, MSPaint are added with the first start of OpenFileTC
  Fixed. If strings have tsome environment variables, then OpenFileTC might work with them not correctly.
  Fixed. Whtn user selected the language (at the first start), then he might select wrong language - the mouse position was analysed not correctly
  Fixed. A lot of small fixed in the editing extensions window 
  Add. Now OpenFileTC supports %1 (it is the same as the %FullFileName%)
  Add. The "Hot key" button in the executables setup window
  Fixed. It was impossible to remove a hot key, only change it to another
  Add. It is possible to change separator between the extensions in the ini-file of the OpenFileTC (see the English.lng file)
  Add. Application remembers its size in the setup  mode and in the work mode separately
  Add. If user forced call OpenFileTC, then OpenFileTC select that executable which must open selected file with the normal OpenFileTC calling.
  Add. Now user can set the "Always use..." check box state at the next OpenFileTC start - always on, always off or by the last state
  Fixed. Now supported extensions in the executable's hint are on the several strings

Version 1.7b  (January 27, 2007) (preparing app for Total Commander v7.0)
 1) For Total Commander v7.0 and higher: application getting list of files without using clipboard. ATTENTION: this option works only at the short or full view of TC's file list. Partially, OpenFileTC doesn't works if using thumbnails view. 
    For Total Commander v6.5x and earlier: work with clipboard becomes more good. But it's recommended to change version of Total Commander to the 7.0!
 2) If OpenFileTC starts without parameters, then it opens in the setup mode.
 3) Now Open File TC can starts on another Ini-file. Anso you can use environment variables (see file "SupportedTags_eng.txt"). Command line: OpenFileTC.exe /I=""
 4) Now app supports the following tags:
      %RootDrive% - drive letter with the colon, where OpenFileTC starts from ("C:", "D:")
      %COMMANDER_DRIVE% -  drive letter with the colon, where Total Commander starts from
 5) Now Open File shell for TC works correctly with paths, where strings "..\" (up one level) are exists.
 6) Now OpenFileTC forced start can be setted using one of three switches (Caps Lock, Num Lock, Scroll Lock) and/or mouse position (one screen corner)
 7) Now you can set another icon for each added application.
 8) Fixed: of default application was removed from computer, then OpenFileTC doesn't react when user press F4 on files. Now OpenFileTC main window opens. 
 9) Fixed: files with null extension sometimes lost their option "Always open with selected..." 
10) Now application get full name of Total Commanders' Ini-file name using environment variable %COMMANDER_INI%
11) Fixed: when new application with wrong exe header was added to the list of avaliable apps, then Open File TC raised an error îøèáêó Invalid Pointer Operation.

13) A lot of small fixes and addons.

Version 1.7a (August 15, 2006) (some improvements, raising comfort)
 1) Applications are start faster if user sets the "Always use..." options.
 2) Now icons are load in the separate thread, so Open File TC startup is faster
 3) New option "Show tool tips" 
 4) Fonts for main window and dialog windows are separated
 5) New: now you can sort apps by calling rate. Also all apps have their calling rate statistic.
 6) Now Open File TC don't restart when you change some settings.
 7) Added additional points to the popup menu, they allows to change application's kind quickly.

Version 1.6 (July 17, 2006) (fixing bugs) 
1. Fixed: now complex commend line sends to the selected application correctly  
2. Fixed: file from archive is opened from the temp folder.  
3. Fixed: run type lost when a list of supported extensions changed.  
4. Fixed: hot key sets correctly  
5. New: there are four variants of interface.  
6. Fixed: in the dialog box for selected application, there can't be opened "Open File" dialog box when press on "..." button.  
7. Fixed a lot of error with the relative paths.  
8. New: two useful check box in the Open File TC setup window  
9. Fixed: now only selected files are open, without file under cursor (if this file is not selected).  
10. New: popup window has two new items: Open in  and Open but don't spy for executable  
11. Lots of other fixes and overpatchings.

Version 1.5 (May 8, 2006) (translation into Unicode-strings) 
1) Application is translated into Unicode. Now application shows correctly all languages supported Unicode. Attention: language files of previous versions (less than 1.5) may shows in application incorrectly. Its recommended to download native language file as soon as it possible, or convert lng-files to Unicode by yourself.  
2) Fixed: application worked incorrectly with files which extensions in upper case.  
3) Added: now each application has its own hot-key. Following keys are reserved by Open File TC: 0..9, Enter, Esc  
4) Fixed: Open File TC doesn't works with no-extension files. If you want to add this file type to some editor, you need to add %nil% extension to the list of supported extensions.  
5) Fixed a error with the clipboard. Now Open File TC doesn't changes clipboard.  
6) Popup menu has new item -  setup. This item allows to change application's running type.  
7) Other cosmetic changes.  
 
Version 1.4. (February 23, 2006) (some cosmetic changes) 
1) Program now supports these tags:  
 %COMMANDER_PATH% - full path to the folder of Total Commander  
 %WinDir% - Windows folder  
 %ProgramFiles% - Program Files folder  
 %OpenFileTC_Path% - folder of OpenFileTC  
 All there tags can be used in any paths of OpenFileTC Ini-file. Parameters are replaced by paths WITHOUT slash at the end.  
 ATTENTION: %COMMANDER_PATH% param works only if OpenFileTC is started under Total Commander! Otherwise program may works incorrectly with these paths.  
2) Fixed errors when program works incorrectly with Ini-file. Programs might have two or more same extensions. Also sometimes program might run not that application as expected.  
3) Extensions editing window: extension now sorts by alphavite.  
4) Fixed some wrongs with tooltip for programs.  
5) Now program show 32-bit icons correctly. Also program don't use any more folder "Icons" (this folder contained all icons from programs).  
6) Now you can separate extensions in Ini-file by comma, example: "SupportedExts=pas, bat, txt"  
7) Now multi-using is the optional setting. Toggled off by default.  
8) Other small changes, addings and fixings.

Version 1.3. (February 06, 2006) (program becomes more flexible) 
1) Now all preferred program can be selected by the numbers 1..9. In other case, when you press 1 then first preferred program opens.  
2) Now program use different Ini-files for each user.  
3) For force opening program you need to turn on SCROLL LOCK button.  
4) Popup menu has new item - "Setup OpenFileTC". It opens setup window of program.  
5) "Find EXE" item was discarded.  
6) Now program searching path to TC Ini-file correctly. Special thanks to mozers™ & Shura and Vladimir Serdyuk.  
7) Now you can edit two and more files at one time. Editor for these files is determined by the file selected with cursor.

Version 1.2 (October 15, 2005) (adding abilities for program setup) 
1) New toggle item "Show/Hide icons", it allows to force program loading.  
2) New toggle item "As list/As icons", it allows to change program view style  
3) Now setup items can be removed from program. You need to press right mouse button on some setup element and choose in popup menu item "Remove Element".

Version 1.1 (October 05, 2005) (fix marked bugs, increasing of program stability and flexibility) 
1) Fixed a lot of bugs, which can be caused if program runned from "read-only" place.  
2) Programs now sort by name.  
3) Added the possibility to set special command line for each program extension.  
   Tags to use: 
   %FullFileName% - full file name 
   %FileName% - file name only, no path, no extension, no point before extension. 
   %FileExt% - file extension only, no point before extension 
4) Other bugs are fixed.
